I just experienced the same problem as the poster above (dave@davebricker.com) with one of the two Facebook accounts that still worked. I was asked to change the password on the account and after I did that, I get that same “FACEBOOK CONNECTION ERROR” on SNAP when I try to reconnect it using the Password method.

I have gone from having over 30 accounts on SNAP to having only one that’s working. I totally get that Facebook is making changes, but some kind of response would be greatly appreciated.

I’m so sorry for not replying! No, I haven’t been able to resolve it. All but two Facebook accounts connected to SNAP had stopped working (and one of those just stopped working today). The two (or now one) that is working are using the Password method, however, I can’t use that method on any of the other accounts because Facebook consistently locked the account immediately after connecting using the Password method on those accounts.

I’m still having this issue with Facebook. I’m using the Plugin version 4.3.18 and API 4.5.4.

I’m having the same problem. The newest API update for the WordPress plugin is what caused it I think (v 4.5.1). Facebook is removing the old layout (the blue/white one) and Nextscripts can’t post to Facebook personal profiles that are using the new layout. Last week Ludwig (the Nextscripts support guy) told me that the most recent plugin update and the 2nd to last API update would fix the problem, but I still couldn’t post to profiles using the new layout. Now the API has been updated again and I’m guessing that update was supposed to fix it, but it’s just made things worse since now we can’t post to Facebook at all!

I’m having the same problem with some of my accounts posting to Personal Facebook Profiles. I get the following error: ERROR=- :null,”summary”:”Your Request Couldn’t be Processed”,”description”:”There was a problem with this request. We’re working on getting it fixed as soon as we can.”,”description_raw”:”There was a problem with this request. We’re working on getting it fixed as soon as we can.

Only certain profiles have the problem and I can’t figure out what it is about them that’s causing it. I have had this problem before, but it was fixed with a previous update…now it seems to be back.

Ludwig/NextScripts admin: this needs to be fixed ASAP!

We get that error on some accounts when we use the username/password method to connect. Once it happens with an account we have to switch to the session method, the username/password method will never work again (at least it hasn’t for us in the last 6 months or so).

It’s worth noting that this isn’t a problem with SNAP – it happens with other APIs as well. It’s something going on with Facebook. IMHO Facebook is intentionally making it harder to connect via unofficial APIs and developers (like SNAP) are having to rush to catch up with the changes Facebook makes.

Some of our accounts aren’t being locked out anymore, but others still are. We have a LOT of accounts connected via SNAP and only a handful are still having a problem. We’ve had about 6 locked out in the last couple days, but it’s better than it was before. Things do seem like they’re improving, but it’s not 100% fixed for us yet.

They just released a new WP plugin on Friday (the 23rd) so I’m assuming that has something to do with the improvement for us.

@paypal@cinema5d.com We’re using the WordPress Plugin version 4.3.8 with the API version 4.4.40…the API was just recently updated so I’m guessing that’s what they meant.

@jessem Have you tried turning on two-factor authentication then setting up an App Password in Facebook? That has worked for us in the past.

In reply to my support ticket they said:
“Apparently Facebook again has changed the technology of work. We are working on finding a more stable method as soon as possible. Please follow the plugin updates. We apologize for the inconvenience.”

That’s good enough for me (for now). Fingers crossed that we’ll get an update soon though!

I just wanted to chime in here…I’m having the same problem with Facebook locking my accounts and requiring password changes. Now I also can’t add any new accounts using the Session method. As soon as I enter the c_user and xs info into SNAP, Facebook immediately logs me out and ends the session.

I tried the trick with doing it from m.facebook.com. It worked with one account, but then it stopped working too.

I sent a support request a little while ago – we’ll see if anyone replies.
