    Did you fellows every get Reposter working properly for you, or is it still not working for you? What about the Autoposter? Does that work for you? I would make sure that Autoposter is working properly first, because Reposter depends on the same account information. In case it is of any help to you, Reposter is working partially or fully for me for the following social networks:

    Flickr = working
    Instagram = working
    LinkedIn = working
    Pinterest = working
    Tumblr = partially working
    Twitter = no image being posted

    In our testing we used the session ID and User ID pulled from storage – EVERY time we posted something, even a test, the session ID changed – meaning FB does not want anyone posting via this method.

    I suspect that what may possibly be happening there behind the scenes, is that you are being force logged out, which obviously will result in a new session ID being generated when you log back in again. Or maybe Facebook is surreptitiously logging you out and back in again — without you being aware of it — so that a new session ID is generated. The end result is that you will never be able to post on Facebook using SNAP Pro’s Auto-poster, since Facebook will always be one step ahead of you.

    I can’t even get that far. As I said in my previous post, I have been locked out of my Facebook account for over two weeks now. Sometimes Facebook will send me a new code by email when someone makes a new comment on one of my previous FB posts. However, the minute I enter the code in the hope of being allowed back in Facebook again, I get the same old “Suspicious Activity” window, and then I am forced again to upload my ID, followed by the bogus message stating that they will contact me after examining my ID. Yeah Sure. Right. 🙁

    Regarding making a Facebook app and hoping for the best, personally, I would not waste my time doing so. In case you are not aware of it. Some folks here — myself included — have gone that route and tried to get an app approved by Facebook. After several months of patiently waiting, the verdict finally arrives. Your app was not approved.

    Of course, it is entirely up to you, but I wouldn’t.

    If there is truly no way for NextScripts to work around this new block technique somehow, it really puts a damper on my willingness to pay $50 annually for the Premium API, because out of the nine social networks where I have some level of participation, Facebook is the primary social network I depend on for directing people to my website.

    For those of you who are still having issues with Instagram, I finally got mine working again today after a lot of frustration.

    If you haven’t tried this yet, I suggest that you do the following. Delete your current account setup for Instagram in your SNAP Pro settings.

    Follow NextScript’s setup instructions for Instagram to the letter.

    Double-check that your user name and password for Instagram are entered correctly in SNAP Pro.

    Make sure you get a new Instagram session ID, if necessary.

    In the “Image Description Format” field, try just putting this, and nothing else:

    New post (%TITLE%) has been published on %SITENAME% – %URL%

    Make sure the “What do to with the image” section of the SNAP Pro setup is set to “Make it Square: Extend – Image will be extended to square”.

    Make sure you have something in the “URL of the Default Image” field.

    Regarding the “Location ID” field, I have nothing in there, because it requires logging into Facebook, but I can’t do that right now, because FB has locked me out of my account. However, even without a “Location ID”, Instagram is working for me, both with Autoposter and Reposter.

    I hope this helps someone. I know exactly how frustrating it can be. I’ve been there.

    I am likewise having the exact same problem as the OP, and NextScript’s advice in https://www.nextscripts.com/support-faq/#a24 is not helping at all.

    I have a SNAP Pro premium API subscription. I have three accounts set up for Facebook: one for my timeline, one for my page, and one for my group.

    For years, my setup in SNAP Pro has worked fine with all three accounts for Facebook. My password and login are correct. I always update the session ID, etc. whenever it becomes necessary.

    Then, towards the end of September, or perhaps early this current month, for the first time, I too began to receive multiple “Suspicious Activity” warnings. I was force logged out multiple times, forced to upload my personal ID to Facebook multiple times, and repeatedly forced to change my password. It was really getting ridiculous.

    Then, on October 6, 2019, I was locked out of my account completely. Between then and now, I have uploaded my ID at least half a dozen times. Upon doing so, I always get the “promising” email from Facebook that they will contact me after they have examined my ID. They never do contact me. Thus, I have been cut off from my Facebook friends for 15 days now, and I have no idea when Facebook will let me back in, if ever. It is very discouraging, because I depend heavily on Facebook to drive people to my website.

    Glad to hear that Instagram is working for you again, Gwen. Sadly, even though I am using the same versions of the plugin and helper as you, the same amount of memory as you, but a newer version of PHP — 7.3.1 — autoposting to Instagram still does NOT work for me since the third week of February of this year. All I can do is hope that Ludwig will eventually figure out what is going on, because I am not convinced that the problem is on my end. In fact, a few minutes ago, the plugin said that my test post was successfully posted to Instagram, but it is nowhere to be found. I really don’t know what else to do.

    in reply to: Error 200 #562069

    Instagram was a bit tricky but with the Alternative Instagram Configuration Instructions: https://www.nextscripts.com/instructions/alternative-instagram-configuration/ it works also now

    Actually, BBT, I — and others — already use the session ID method, but SNAP Pro has still stopped autoposting for us since February of this year. A number of us have informed Ludwig of this, but he insists that it is because our IPs have been banned due to spamming. As I told him, I am not convinced of this, because I can post on Instagram just fine using the “Flume” app, and I post on Instagram with Flume every single day. So this is evidence to me that the problem — at least for me — is NOT due to being banned from Instagram. I am convinced that something else is going on, which Ludwig hasn’t figured out yet, apparently.

    It just doesn’t make sense to me all that all of us would suddenly start having the same problem at the same time towards the end of February, which is from I have gathered, is exactly what happened.

    in reply to: Error 200 #561529

    BBT, yes, that is correct. As Ludwig just confirmed, you can sit there and wait for weeks or months until your app has been approved by Facebook, or you can bite the bullet and purchase SNAP Pro Premium API, and forget Facebook’s hassles.

    I will tell you this. I tried Facebook’s way; and after waiting a few months, my app was NOT approved, for reasons which I didn’t even understand. It was a total waste of time. Not only that, I suspect that with Facebook tightening up its ship more and more each year, it will become even more difficult to get Facebook apps approved.

    And, yes, Ludwig’s Premium API works outside of Facebook’s API. As such, there is NO app review process at all. Also, there is no download install with Ludwig’s Premium API. You just install SNAP Pro on your server — which you have already done — and the premium part of it works from Ludwig’s server.

    You can tell the status and version of SNAP Pro Premium API by going into your WordPress settings:

    Dashboard > SNAP|Autoposter > Help/Support

    Also, Premium API seems to auto-update on its own, which is a positive.

    BTW, I also only have one website currently. But for me, being as I syndicate to eight social networks, SNAP Pro Premium API is a worthy investment. I just wish I could get Instagram working again. Ludwig???

    in reply to: Error 200 #561526

    BBT, personally, in my opinion, if you can afford it, you would be better off paying Ludwig $50/year for his premium API. The fact is that keeping SNAP Pro compatible with Facebook has been a major headache for Ludwig, because Facebook is constantly changing the API on their end, and thus breaking SNAP Pro’s Facebook functionality. It is probably only a matter of time before Facebook breaks SNAP Pro again.

    If you switch to the premium API version of SNAP Pro, not only will you be using Ludwig’s proprietary version of the Facebook API, but it will rid you of the problems you are currently having. Furthermore, with the premium API, you will also be able to autopost to more social networks, assuming that you are a member on them.

    Just my suggestion. BTW, I use the premium API with eight social networks, and only one — Instagram — has been giving me, and others — problems as of late.

    in reply to: AUTOPOST STILL NOT WORK FOR INSTAGRAM #560986

    For what it is worth, auto-posting to Instagram still continues to NOT work for me either. Ludwig has insisted that everything is fine, being as it works on his server. However, I disagree. Auto-posting to Instagram has NOT worked for me since the third week of February, while auto-posting to all other social networks continues to work fine.

    As I said earlier, I am NOT convinced that this problem has anything to do with my posts to Instagram being marked as spam. If I use the Flume app, my posts are posted to Instagram without a problem. If my posts were really being marked as spam by Instagram, then using the Flume app wouldn’t work either. However, Flume does work. I am forced to use it everyday, since SNAP Pro is not working with Instagram. So again, to me, this indicates that there is something wrong with the SNAP Pro plugin which is causing the problem with Instagram. Exactly what the problem is, I honestly do not know, but I am very annoyed by this.

    in reply to: AUTOPOST STILL NOT WORK FOR INSTAGRAM #560386

    Ludwig, thank you for your response. Okay, I am not so sure that posting from my iPhone would make any difference in my case, because I have a static IP address. So whether I use my iMac or my iPhone to post to Instagram, the same IP address would still be logged by Instagram.

    Second, I never post from my iPhone. My graphics are not selfies. They are thousands of images I have created in Adobe Photoshop. These images are not even on my iPhone. Aside from that, my images always contain a lot of text, including a number of links to other locations on my website, which provide supporting information for each image that I post. In short, to be able to do what I do on my iMac in my WordPress setup, would be very difficult to do on my iPhone.

    What you still haven’t explained to me, and what I still do not understand, is why I don’t have a problem with posting my images on Instagram while using the Flume app. This is from my iMac. I just posted thirteen images on Instagram — via Flume — without a problem. If I have been banned, or flagged for spam, or have some kind of bad reputation that I am not aware of, wouldn’t it be impossible for me to post images using Flume as well, being as I have a static IP address?

    I have been posting to Instagram for a number of years now, and it has always been the same kind of material, and in the same quantity. So I don’t understand why this should be happening now, unless Facebook has made some behind-the-scenes changes to their API and algorithms which is now negatively affecting some of us.

    in reply to: AUTOPOST STILL NOT WORK FOR INSTAGRAM #560343

    Ludwig, I am sorry, but what you state is not always true. I have posted some images to Instagram which I have never uploaded before, because I have created them on the very same day of the upload. So, it is totally impossible for Instagram to already have them.

    Second, as I have already clearly explained to you, to my knowledge, I am not, and have never been, banned from Instagram. If this were the case, then I would not be able to successfully upload my images to Instagram using Flume. However, I have no problem uploading with Flume. I use the very same Instagram account with Flume that I use with your plugin. The fact that I can upload with Flume, but not with your plugin, strongly suggests to me that there is a problem with your plugin.

    I find it highly unusual that so many people are suddenly complaining that they cannot upload to Instagram. Are you suggesting that Instagram has suddenly banned all of us? I don’t think so.

    BTW, I am using the very latest version of SNAP Pro: Plugin Version: 4.3.4 (API Version: 4.4.25 [ID:8535]) [Pro Edition].

    Please look into this further. Thank you.

    in reply to: AUTOPOST STILL NOT WORK FOR INSTAGRAM #560313

    The same here, Gwen. I have made it clear — both here in this forum, as well as in a number of private email messages to Ludwig — that both auto-posting and using the “post now” button have been broken since the third week of February.

    As I explained to Ludwig, since February, while I also get a temporary spinning wheel — meaning that the plugin is trying to post the message on Instagram — it eventually gives me the following error message:

    |ERROR -POST- Array
    (
    [message] => Unknown Server Error.
    [status] => fail
    )

    |ERROR -POST- Array ( [message] => Unknown Server Error. [status] => fail )

    Just now I tried using the “post now” button again for one of my blog posts. To my surprise, it said that my post was successfully posted to Instagram. I just checked on Instagram, and my post was indeed posted. Whether it was a one-time fluke and will soon break again, I don’t know yet.

    But regardless, auto-posting is STILL not working.

    Sadly, Ludwig refuses to even acknowledge that a problem exists with Instagram. In his last email to me dated March 26th, he stated the following:

    “Instagram API works fine. you can always check it here on our demo page:

    https://www.nextscripts.com/api/instagram-automated-posting/”

    I wrote back to him and told him that it may be working on his demo page, but it is NOT working for some of us. I have not heard back from him since, and I am beginning to grow disappointed about this. For a $50/year subscription, we all deserve better service than this.

    BTW, I am certain that the problem is with the SNAP Pro plugin, because if I use the paid version of Flume, my blog posts are successfully posted to Instagram just fine. However, I shouldn’t have to use Flume, because I am paying $50/year for SNAP Pro. 🙁

    in reply to: AUTOPOST STILL NOT WORK FOR INSTAGRAM #559929

    Why does not any to NextScripts administrator answer this problem about instagram? Are they closed? i am suscriptor to Snap Premium until 2020.
    They no longer respond to problem tickets, the last update of page known issues were in 2017, what happend?????

    Daniel, I know that it can be frustrating, but even though there may be no apparent progress on the surface, I am confident that Ludwig is busy working on this issue behind the scenes. For example, when I first reported this Instagram problem to him in the third week of February, the API stood at version 4.4.14. Since that time until now, it has been updated multiple times, and now stands at version 4.4.23. That means that Ludwig is trying to fix this issue for us. And actually, it was temporarily fixed after the 4.4.16 update, but then, about five days later, Instagram auto-posting was broken again.

    I have been in communication with Ludwig via email, so I know that he is more than aware of this Instagram problem, and as I said, I do believe that he is working on it. The problem may not even be with his plugin. More than likely, Facebook — the owner of Instagram — keeps making software changes on their web server which is what is breaking SNAP’s ability to autopost to Instagram. Facebook is notorious for making code changes and breaking things.

    I am sure that Ludwig will eventually get Instagram auto-posting working again. We just need to be patient and give Ludwig time to figure this out. I imagine it can be frustrating for him as well when these social networks make code changes which break his plugin.

    in reply to: AUTOPOST STILL NOT WORK FOR INSTAGRAM #559914

    As of a few hours ago, auto-posting to Instagram is still not working.

    If I send a test post on my Instagram setup page in SNAP, I get the following feedback:

    Testing …

    |ERROR -POST- Array
    (
    [message] => Unknown Server Error.
    [status] => fail
    )

    |ERROR -POST- Array ( [message] => Unknown Server Error. [status] => fail )

    Here are my current SNAP specs:

    Plugin Version: 4.3.3 (API Version: 4.4.20 [ID:8535]) [Pro Edition]
    SNAP Pro WordPress Plugin (Lifetime License): Active;
    SNAP Premium API Service: Active; Subscription – Next renewal date: April 24, 2019

    Please disregard the above message, being as I just figured out what was going on. Somehow, in all three of my Facebook accounts, “Where to Post” had been switched to “Profile”, instead of one being to profile, one being to page, and one being to group. I have no idea how it happened. At any rate, it now appears to be fixed.
