I am having trouble setting up Telegram account as well. I believe I have followed the instructions but I am still getting the error. I tried setting up an account last week and was getting error… after updating to latest version 3.5..5 I have tried again … deleted the account in WP and set it up again but still having trouble setting it up.

Now all clients allow to do it, but it’s not pretty simple.
In any Telegram client:

1. Open Channel info (in app title)
2. Choose Administrators
3. Add Administrator
4. There will be no bots in contact list, so you need to search for it.
5. Enter your bot’s username
6. Clicking on it you make it as administrator.
