Instagram Autoposting is coming to SNAP!
3 years ago we wrote an article explaining why Instagram was not supported. Instagram was accepting images only from the phones and other mobile devices and there was no way to post there from the website or API. Since then we were considering creating our own API for Instagram. Well, today we are announcing it.
NextScripts API for Instagram will be available for all active API subscribers* Friday March 5, 2016 as part of the Universal API.
More info as well as demo is here: SNAP: Autoposting to Instagram
Clarification:
Autoposting to Instagram is available to all active SNAP API subscribers. Active SNAP API subscriber is anyone whose last payment for SNAP API was less then a year ago.
Instagram autoposting is available in all SNAP API versions including “Pro”, “Light” and “Run-Time”(this one is included with “Pro” WordPress plugin)
Clarification #2: Who is getting Instagram?
SNAP API Pro Subscribers – Yes
SNAP API Light Subscribers – Yes
SNAP Pro WordPress plugin users who subscribed to RunTime API – Yes
SNAP Pro WordPress plugin users who chose “One time payment” option after March 5, 2015 – Yes (but will loose it on the payment anniversary)
SNAP Pro WordPress plugin users who chose “One time payment” option before March 5, 2015 – No
SNAP Free WordPress plugin – No
Just want to say this process is really complicated…as someone who purchased the plugin 2 or 3 years ago and has been extremely pleased with it since…the new API jargon is really, really confusing. I don’t understand what I’m now paying $75/year for? I was excited when I saw the Instagram Autopost news but I think I’ll just wait for an alternative at this point.
What is not right? What do you mean exactly? If you are paying $75/year, you are getting Instagram. What alternative you need to wait for?
Hi,
i bought the PRO on october 2015, so i’m in the current year but i cannot find no place to download the updates, and again i can’t have an answers by you neither on the forum, opened ticket some days ago, writing here and mailed to you. No answers?
Is this the support you give to your PRO subscribers? Well, many compliments.
“Pro” users did not get the Instagram API yet. They will get it next week.
I don’t understand….I already paid for SNAP Pro a few years ago and now just to get Instagram Autoposts I have to pay $75/year? Thank you for all your hard work but at that price, we’re better off waiting for a cheaper solution or posting on IG manually like we’ve been doing.
So are you paying $75/year or not?
Let me put is this way:
Instagram will be available to everybody who are paying on “per year” basis. It does not require $75/year. People with $49/year (run-time API) will get it as well.
If you paid $49 (once) several years ago, then we are sorry, but you are not getting Instagram for free. You can keep using all networks that were available at that time and you will keep getting updates for them, but Instagram and all future networks were not included to that one time payment.
It is a bit disappointing that those who supported nextscripts at its early stages by purchasing the $49 several years ago, now have to purchase the $49/year to JUST to use Instagram.
It’s just Instagram now, but we will be adding more and more networks. We already have three more in works. It was not possible without subscription.
Thanks for responding. But 3 Years ago the original intention was to have Instagram as part of SNAP Pro (was it not?) but because Instagram didn’t allow the publishing from third party tools it was not included.
Don’t be cheap guys. I’m a developer myself and i’m more than happy paying yearly for code that can do this. It’s complicated stuff. Some of it (where there is no native API like Pinterest and now Instagram) requires bug fixes quite often i’m sure. We should be paying much much more for this service. Be happy this product even exists.
Agree with Nate… It’s amazing to me that $49 is such a “cost” to some when in reality it is an “investment” that *saves* time – and time is money. The plugin continues to be worthwhile and valuable on whatever payment option is chosen (or not), and without some sort of financial incentive that funds the development work this plugin simply would not exist!
Does someone with the active subscription knows where to download the new API version with instagram? And does someone already downloaded it?
Thank you
